Senior Administrative Coordinator

Full-time, permanent in Saskatoon, SK

STEP is seeking a highly organized and confident individual in the role of Senior Administrative Coordinator to provide program and administrative support to the Trade Development unit.

The successful candidate will support a team of professionals that organize outgoing and incoming trade missions and trade events for exporting companies throughout the province. This position will also assist in planning and implementation of exporter education webinars and seminar, as well as provide general reception duties for the Saskatoon office.

Required knowledge & technical skills include:

  • Business diploma/degree or combination of experience and education
  • Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible administrative support responsibility
  • Experience at the Intermediate level in the use of common software packages including Office 365
  • Level of understanding of technology platforms for conducting online trade and education events considered an asset (Webex, Zoom, MS Teams)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication (both oral and written) skills
  • Effective organizational skills and proofreading skills
  • Focus on attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Graphic design skills desirable

STEP offers a vibrant and interesting work environment as well as a competitive compensation and benefits package.

Salary Range: $50,714 – $68,613

Director, Energy & Mining

Full-time, permanent in Regina or Saskatoon, SK

Reporting to the Vice President, Trade Development, your role is to develop strategies and initiatives that identify international business opportunities for STEP member companies in the energy and mining sector.

Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing an annual business plan for your team and managing a program of outgoing and incoming trade missions, as well as assisting companies with developing marketing strategies and providing advice on export/trade contract negotiations. Your role also includes representing the corporation on trade development initiatives and delivering export related presentations.

In addition to qualities noted above, you need to possess other knowledge, skills and abilities such as:

  • A university degree in commerce or business administration with a focus on international marketing
  • 5-7 years of progressive work experience in the mining and/or energy sector
  • Project management skills
  • Foreign language skills desirable
  • Extensive knowledge of marketing/selling in an international environment
  • Thorough knowledge of the exporting capabilities of Saskatchewan companies, particularly in oil & gas, clean energy, renewables, critical minerals and mining
  • Flexibility to travel in-province and for extended periods, nationally and internationally

STEP offers a vibrant and interesting work environment as well as a competitive compensation and benefits package.

Salary Range: $96,480 – $131,756
