Media Release – STEP Welcomed Global Buyers to Ag in Motion 2025

Regina, Saskatchewan — STEP Welcomed Global Buyers to Saskatchewan for Ag in Motion 2025

Saskatchewan Trade & Export Partnership (STEP) successfully concluded two dynamic incoming trade missions in conjunction with Ag in Motion 2025, welcoming more than 40 international delegates from over 10 countries to Langham and Saskatoon from July 14-17.

Led by STEP’s Agri-Value and Agricultural Manufacturing & Technology Trade Development Teams, the missions brought together global buyers and Saskatchewan exporters for a high-impact program designed to foster trade connections, showcase innovation, and strengthen Saskatchewan’s position as a global leader in agri-food and ag-tech solutions.

Delegates toured the Ag in Motion outdoor farm expo, Canada’s largest agricultural trade show in the field, where they experienced firsthand the province’s cutting-edge equipment, crop technology, and sustainable farming practices. Notably, 13% of STEP’s membership exhibited at Ag in Motion 2025, demonstrating the strong presence and leadership of Saskatchewan exporters in the agricultural innovation space.

To further support international engagement, STEP hosted the International Trade & Investment Lounge on-site at the show, with the valued support of Global Affairs Canada – Trade Commissioner Service, and Export Development Canada (EDC). The Lounge served as a central hub for international delegates to connect with Saskatchewan companies, government representatives, and trade professionals.

The program also featured targeted B2B meetings between international buyers and STEP member companies. Organized in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Trade and Export Development’s International Offices, the meetings facilitate meaningful dialogue and export opportunities.

The missions welcomed delegates from a diverse range of markets, including the United States, Mexico, Uzbekistan, India, Australia, Armenia, Egypt, Ghana, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, and Mongolia—underscoring Saskatchewan’s growing global reach and the international demand for its agricultural expertise.

The mission culminated in the 2025 Ag in Motion International Reception, held in Saskatoon and generously sponsored by Discover Saskatoon, Global Affairs Canada, and Glacier FarmMedia. The reception brought together STEP members, international buyers, and key stakeholders to celebrate collaboration and explore new opportunities in the sector.

“These missions reflect our commitment to helping Saskatchewan exporters expand their reach and build lasting trade relationships,” said Jeff Cooper, VP of Trade Development with STEP. “By connecting our members with international buyers, we’re turning innovation into impact and strengthening Saskatchewan’s role in the global agricultural economy.”

STEP extends its appreciation to all participating members, partners, and international delegates who contributed to the success of this initiative. As change remains constant in global trade, STEP is committed to creating opportunities that help Saskatchewan exporters thrive.
