Media Release – Saskatchewan lands in Germany with a record-setting footprint at Agritechnica 2025

Regina, Saskatchewan — Saskatchewan lands in Germany with a record-setting footprint at Agritechnica 2025

Saskatchewan Trade & Export Partnership (STEP) is proud to lead the largest-ever Western Canadian delegation participating in AGRITECHNICA 2025, currently underway in Hannover, Germany from November 9–15. With more than 170 delegates and 30 exhibiting companies from Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Alberta, this year’s presence marks a new milestone for Canadian agricultural manufacturing on the world stage.

Agritechnica is recognized as the world’s largest trade fair for agricultural machinery and technology, drawing nearly half a million visitors with a strong focus on market diversification and building long-term international relationships.

Nearly 40% of Western Canada’s 11,000 farm and ranch implement manufacturing jobs are based in Saskatchewan, making STEP’s record-setting mission to Agritechnica a direct connection to the province’s economy.

“Agritechnica is where the global agriculture industry comes to connect and ultimately do business,” says Chris Lane, President & CEO of STEP. “However, this trade mission is about more than just sales—it’s about building durable relationships, gathering market intelligence, and showing the world the strength of prairie innovation at a time when it’s never been more important to advocate for Canada and Saskatchewan as a reliable, innovative trade partner.

The mission is the largest and latest in STEP’s ongoing work to support companies growing Saskatchewan’s export sector, partnering with Government of Saskatchewan and the international trade and investment offices around the world.

“The Government of Saskatchewan is proud to support Agritechnica 2025 hosted in Hanover, Germany where Saskatchewan’s expertise and innovation in agricultural technology will be showcased,” Trade and Export Development Minister Warren Kaeding said. “With exports reaching over 160 countries around the world, Saskatchewan is one of the most trade-oriented provinces in Canada. Events like this reaffirm our government’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships, which are essential to protect jobs, promote trade, and attract investment that keep our economy the best in Canada.”

Adding a unique academic perspective to the event, fifteen international business students from the Edwards School of Business, University of Saskatchewan, are on-site to experience the event firsthand. Through their work with exhibitors, these students will gain exposure to international B2B interactions and trade marketing efforts, deepening their understanding of global commerce and communications in practice.

The Western Canadian Pavilion at Agritechnica 2025 is supported by Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan), the Government of Saskatchewan – Ministry of Trade & Export Development, the Government of Alberta, the Government of Manitoba, Global Affairs Canada, and Air Canada, the official travel partner.

The Saskatchewan Trade & Export Partnership (STEP) is a member‑driven non‐profit corporation dedicated to increasing Saskatchewan’s export activity and helping companies diversify their customer base in high‑potential global markets. For more information, visit Sasktrade.com.
