Trade Mission: Hannover Messe 2026
Hannover Messe is one of the world’s largest industrial technology events. The show brings together advanced manufacturing, industrial automation, industrial software, energy systems, clean technology, and Industry 4.0. Starting in 2026, Hannover Messe will also feature a dedicated Defence Production Area focused on production technologies and dual-use capabilities.
STEP plans to secure a Saskatchewan booth space as part of the Canada Pavilion presence at Hannover Messe 2026. Canada will be represented in Hall 27, Hall 26, and Hall 14 organized by NGEN with support from Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED).
Why join this trade mission?
- Preferential EU market access: CETA provides duty-free market access for approximately 98% of industrial products traded between Canada and the EU, improving competitiveness for Canadian equipment, component, and technology exporters.
- Access to a large and growing industrial market: The EU is Canada’s second largest trading partner and remains a priority growth market for advanced manufacturing, energy systems, and industrial technologies.
- Direct access to EU funded innovation programs: Canada is associated with Horizon Europe (approximately €95B, 2021–2027), enabling Canadian companies, universities, and research institutes to participate in large EU funded industrial and technology projects.
- Strong policy alignment with Canadian technologies: Canada and the EU collaborate closely on clean technology, digital policy, and industrial innovation, creating a supportive environment for Canadian startups entering Europe.
- Significant investment in energy and industrial infrastructure: Europe is investing heavily in electricity grids, hydrogen infrastructure, energy efficiency, EV charging, and digital industrial systems, driving increased demand for Canadian technology, software, engineering, and advanced manufacturing solutions.
