Prairies Defence Readiness Workshop (PDRW)
The Prairies Defence Readiness Workshop (PDRW) is a one-day, in-person seminar designed to help companies, research organizations, and Indigenous businesses across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba better understand how to participate in Canada’s defence and security supply chains.
As global defence spending increases and major procurement programs move forward in Canada and with NATO allies, Prairie-based suppliers have growing opportunities to support prime contractors and government programs. However, many organizations are unsure where to begin when it comes to compliance requirements, certifications, and navigating federal procurement processes.
Gain practical guidance on the key programs and requirements suppliers must understand to pursue defence-related opportunities.
Benefit from presentations from federal government representatives and industry experts on:
- Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
- Contract Security Program (CSP) and security clearances
- Canada’s new cyber certification program (CPCSC)
- Becoming a supplier to the Government of Canada and understanding different contracting channels and mechanisms
- Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) value propositions and how primes evaluate suppliers
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to government representatives and industry experts during dedicated Q&A periods.
The event will also include networking opportunities during breaks and lunch, as well as sponsor tables featuring firms that provide services such as cybersecurity, physical security, compliance consulting, and quality management certification.
PDRW is designed for:
- Small and medium-sized manufacturers and technology companies
- Engineering, aerospace, defence, and advanced manufacturing suppliers
- Universities, applied research organizations, and innovation centres
- Indigenous-owned businesses and organizations interested in defence participation
