The newly formed SaskOilseeds will remain a producer-led organization, supported by 17,000 levy-paying Saskatchewan canola growers and 3,000 levy-paying Saskatchewan flax growers. SaskOilseeds’ mandate is to provide value to oilseed growers through research, advocacy, and market development. SaskCanola-funded research focuses on projects that foster innovation, decrease production risk, increase sustainability and grower profitability. Advocacy work ensures that the growers’ voice is reflected in legislation and policy. Extension initiatives provide new information on relevant issues through our website, grower events and social media. Promotional initiatives link the benefits of canola oil and flaxseed to consumers and key professional influencers.
