The Saskatchewan Flax Development Commission (SaskFlax) is funded through a check-off on sales of flaxseed and flax straw. Since 1996, the commission has worked to develop the flax industry for the benefit of growers. Activities include funding research and promoting flax to domestic and international markets.

SaskOats collects a $.75 per tonne check-off from every tonne of oats grown for sale in Saskatchewan. This money is used towards SaskOats' primary objectives including oat research, market development, advocacy, building industry partnerships and communication with oat growers, consumers, the oat industry and government.
