Now in its 18th edition, the STEP Export Award celebrates the ambition, resilience, and global success of Saskatchewan exporters. Since its inception in 1999, this honour has recognized STEP members who not only grow beyond borders but also set the standard for export excellence.
This is more than an award—it is a mark of distinction. Recipients and finalists earn meaningful recognition from peers, enhanced credibility with customers and investors, and elevated visibility both provincially and internationally. It is a powerful acknowledgement of a job exceptionally well done.
Each year, applicants are evaluated on their achievements in:
- Introducing innovative products or services into new markets
- Demonstrating significant growth in export sales
- Maintaining a strong export-to-total sales ratio
- Contributing to their community through job creation and economic impact

Introduced in 1999, the STEP Export Award recognizes the export achievements of STEP members. The Award recipient and finalists will receive public recognition, affirmation of business excellence from peers, higher standing with customers, investors and potential employees, as well as province-wide and international acknowledgement!
For more than 20 years, the honour has been awarded to STEP members based on the following criteria:
- The introduction of new products/services into new markets
- A significant increase in export sales
- A high ratio of export sales to total sales
- A positive impact on the community through job creation
